【12月8日（真珠湾攻撃の日）に寄せて】「ハル・ノート」を朗誦。連合艦隊出航とほぼ同時が怪しげ。【Hull Note (1941)】Trigger for the U.S.–Japan War? ~Jazz Recitation

　84年前の話。 　1941年12月8日が真珠湾攻撃の日というのは、小学校から教わっていたが、零戦部隊を載せた連合艦隊がその10日以上前の11月26日（本日は、2025年11月28日）に択捉島・ヒトカップ湾を出航していたのを知ったのは、恥ずかしながら、つい最近のことである。加えて、その全行程が米軍の傍受によって筒抜けだった、ということも。 　開戦のきっかけと言われている「ハル・ノート」を受け取ったのも同日26日（アメリカ時間）。しかし、その点も、なんだか怪しい。ただ、確かなことは、戦火に巻き込まれるのは決まってヒトカップの真実も知らぬまま一生を終える庶民（私）である。祖父の弟は戦死し、祖父だけが生き残り、平成まで生きた。戦後80年も終わろうとしている。100年の景色はどうなっていようか。。。 ハル・ノート（Wikipedia) ハル・ノート／合衆国及日本国間協定ノ基礎概略 84 years ago. I’d been taught since grade school that December 8, 1941 was the day of the attack on Pearl Harbor. But it was only very recently—embarrassingly recently—that I learned the carrier task force carrying the Zero squadrons had already set sail more than ten days earlier, leaving Hitokappu Bay on Etorofu Island on November 26. (Today is November 28, 2025.) On top of that, I also learned that the entire voyage was in fact laid bare to the Americans through their signal intercepts. 【SACRIFICE〜８月６日広島原爆の日に寄せて】 In Commemoration of August 6th, Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Day

 　８月７日（アメリカ時間）のNuryoican Online MICのテーマが「Sacrifice」と先週知り、それに触発されて急遽製作したのが本作。

　以前から、「広島原爆慰霊碑」の碑文が気になっていた。「安らかに眠って下さい　過ちは　繰返しませぬから」－－。

　東京裁判に加わったパール判事の疑問。日本語は主語が省かれる。「これは誰の謝罪か……」戦争に勝者も敗者もないが、勝者が罰されず、敗者が徹底的に誇りまで奪われる。それが東京裁判だったのでは、と。。。

　「和」を尊しとする我が国につけこむ狡猾な悪意を、現在もなお、ひしひしと覚える。






I found out last week that the theme for the upcoming Nuyorican Online MIC on August 7th (U.S. time) would be “Sacrifice.” Inspired by that, I rushed to create this piece.


For some time, I have been struck by the inscription on the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Cenotaph:

“Let all the souls here rest in peace, for we shall not repeat the evil.”


Justice Pal, who served on the Tokyo Trials, raised an important question. In Japanese, the subject is often omitted. “Who, exactly, is apologizing here?”

There are no true victors or losers in war. And yet, in the Tokyo Trials, the victors escaped judgment while the defeated had even their dignity stripped away. Was that not the nature of those proceedings?

Even today, I feel the presence of a cunning malice that preys upon our national reverence for　和(wa)—harmony.



【注記】
米ジョージ・ワシントン大学のシンクタンク「国家安全保障アーカイブ」によると、広島への原爆投下から2日後の初期分析において、「少なくとも死者10万人」と米軍が推計していたことが、公開された文書から明らかになっています。

また、広島市は1945年12月末までの死者を約14万人と推計しています。
