【詩で日米の歴史を振り返る】"New Page, New Age" Looking back the history between Japan and US through poetry!
一週間前に、本日2日のNuyoricanのテーマが「Fresh Page」と知り、ふと思いついた。バタバタと詩作、録音、動画制作。昨夜と、発表当日の今日は午前２時に起床し、突貫工事で仕上げたのが、今回の作品「New Page,New Age」。 とにかく、日米間の違和感が、へそ曲がりの私の詩心を掻き立てた。Nuyorican friends、特にホストのElemen2alには大受けだったので、ほっとした。初読みにしては、まずまず。この調子で2026年の午年を駆け抜ける！ About a week ago, I found out that today’s Nuyorican theme (the 2nd) was “Fresh Page,” and it sparked an idea. From there it was a mad dash—writing the poem, recording it, and making the video. Last night, and again today on the day of the performance, I was up at 2 a.m., finishing it in a last-minute sprint. The result is this new piece: “New Page, New Age.” More than anything, that nagging sense of dissonance between Japan and the U.S. stirred my contrarian poetic spirit. My Nuyorican friends—especially the host, Elemen2al—loved it, which was a huge relief. Not bad at all for a first read.
